We’ve had a fairly slow start to the year because of ongoing delays to vinyl production but there’s plenty of great new releases in the pipeline. The first two are released next month on 20th August.
Vaganten, is a new album of inventive, melodic and quirky electronica from ToiToiToi .
In this second LP for Ghost Box, Sebastian Counts leads us a merry dance; a tipsy pilgrimage through a unique sound world of lost European landscapes, odd folk customs, cod-medievalism, sample detritus and electronic melody. Pre-orders open 6th August and the album will be available on LP, CD and all digital services. The heavyweight vinyl version comes with full colour inner sleeve and free download code card.
And at long last the LP and CD versions of last year’s digital compilation, Intermission are also out on the 20th August. The budget priced vinyl version comes on transparent vinyl and is available to pre-order from 6th August.
Next to come in October, we’re very excited to announce the incredible new album by Pye Corner Audio, Entangled Routes. Another majestic, awe inspiring synthesized sci-fi epic from long time Ghost Box roster favourite.
Also in October comes the debut Ghost Box album for Pneumatic Tubes. This is the recording alias of Jesse Chandler keyboard and woodwinds player for Midlake and Mercury Rev. Not his first appearance on Ghost Box, he also contributed organ and flute on the Soundcarriers’ incredible Entropicalia album. A Letter from Treetops is a very personal and contemplative album. Kind of American Kosmiche in style it’s a love letter to the landscape of Upstate New York’s Adirondacks.
The long, long manufacturing lead times mean we’re already lining up releases for well into 2022. So far we can reveal the much anticipated new album by The Advisory Circle, titled Full Circle and a single and album from a new member of the Ghost Box roster, Large Plants. This is the new band of the supremely talented Jack Sharp, of much loved and currently resting band Wolf People. AND early in 2022 there’ll be two new releases on our sister label Belbury Music, more on those right here, soon.
New vinyl releases may be limited and back catalogue vinyl is dwindling and can’t be reissued for a long time to come. So please support the Ghost Box shop and get what you can while stocks last. (For once we mean that quite literally)
